I have taught many photography classes and workshops including basic digital, intermediate studio, darkroom, landscape, architectural, infrared, portrait, travel and abstracts. I have spoken and shown my work in photography schools, galleries, travel agencies, and camera clubs.

Currently, I offer classes in basic and travel photography at False Creek Community Centre, three terms per year. Call False Creek at (604) 257-8195 to register.

I have found that people are particularly interested in travel photography. As humans we seem to have an innate desire to discover new things and have exciting experiences and this is something that travel offers us. We are also motivated by capturing memories, so photography is a natural things to want to master. Wherever it is that you visit, a Caribbean island, somewhere for new year breaks like a city or somewhere for a beach holiday you always want to take great pictures. It is the perfect way to capture the essence of a place if you do it properly, so you can have it with you always and will never forget what that moment felt like.

I also offer basic photography classes at several other Vancouver community centres, classes always focus not only on camera control but also lighting and composition. There is lots of feedback on your work, and you have fun.

I am also available for private lessons. See my blog for photography tips: http://douglaswilliams.blogspot.com.

I am giving basic classes in several other west side community centres. Check on line at http://vancouver.ca/parks/cc/
